Dear Dana

Graphic tees at their finest have been presented by Dear Dana. A blog, photo gallery, and store. The website offers a handful of different white silk screened shirts, where each print is original and irresistible, portrayed relatively obscure fashion icons. These include, Agyness Deyn, Hamish Bowles, and Lil' Kim. The shirts have a $35 price tag, which is a bit pricey for a tee, but in this case, completely worth it. Take a look for yourself.

Paradis(e)

Here Is Vanessa Paradis's new music video for the song L'incendie. The French artist has become well known for two things; 1. Her marriage to the Johnny Depp, 2. The charming gap in between her two front teeth

Vanessa is already a pop star in Europe but this new song could easily become a hit in the states. Her voice is so sweet and the melody has pop/indie feel to it. Even though the lyrics are in French, L'incendie can easily get stuck in your head, so be prepared to hit repeat. The video as well is well produced, it is rumored to have been directed by Johnny Depp who makes a cameo in the first minute. Paradis dances well and the twinkle in her eye is captivating.

Enjoy!

Kate Moss for TopShop: Not at the Top of this Summer's Shopping List.

When Kate Moss's line opened for U.K. brand TopShop last year, patrons lined the streets outside as Moss modeled her collection for behind the flagship store's windows. Her flowy dresses and chic tops were almost instantly sold out all of which corresponded perfectly to her own personal style. For her second line, that doesn't seem to be the case. Nobody is waiting outside and not many are even buying. This is understandable given what she has produced. Kate Moss has recently been robbed of her "best dressed crown," when British Tatler magazine awarded it to Agyness Deyn, Kate coming in second after having received it for the two prior years. The silk top to the left retails for about $70.00 and the black one retails for $30. It is all pretty mediocre, and pricey compared to what you can buy at similar chain stores. (Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, H&M.) The rest of the collection can be viewed here.

The Multitasker: Scarlett Johansson

The gorgerous Scarlett Johansson has been in many amazing films, is releasing a debut album within months, and is now directing her first short film. It will be titled New York, I Love You, set in New York (!
), and starring Kevin Bacon. The Beret and Aviators already make her seem like she is going to be a good helmer.

New York's General Store

Shopsin's Novitas Aetatem is the name of an incredible adorable website selling a completely random selection of goods. They vary from adorable stationary to a "bacon scarf."
Shopsin has a limited collection online, with only twelve items, but you will want each of them. They also have one location in the city, at the Essex Street Market Stall no. 16, 120 Essex Street. Pictured above is a set of note cards of what they call, "the pining porcupine." Pretty cute.

The New Face of Louis Vuitton, Not Actually So New

Is old the new young? Is filth the new chic? That seems to be what Marc Jacobs, designer for Louis Vuitton is trying to communicate in his campaign for luggage. Keith Richards, 64, member of the infamous music group, The Rolling Stones is shown playing his guitar, sitting beside a of cup tea, placed upon the classic Louis Vuitton monogram suitcase. Photographed by Annie Liebovitz. It is hard to deny that the more unusual these ads become, the more "avant-garde" product seems as well. Sure Keith Richards is unconventional, but it is hard not to stare.

Has the God of Hip Hop Delivered an Angel?

Who is this Santogold and why did it take so long to find out about her? Here is her brand new video, L.E.S. Artistes. The music is incredibly mellow for hip-hop, in a good way. The lyrics are catchy and the choreography is an artistic achievement. For anyone who likes M.I.A., or any good hip-hip for that matter, (does this even classify as hip-hop?) will love Santogold and her edgy, equestrian themed music video. Either way, you will be hearing more from Santogold.

We Have a Winner!

Christian Siriano walked off the project runway gold, after winning the final competition. No one is really that surprised. Hope to see your collection at a NY department store. Keep being fierce!

Bag on a Bag? Has M.J. Gone too Far?

Marc Jacobs has recently designed a new bag. The buyer just happens to get more for their money, because when they buy a purse from Marc Jacobs' line of bag on bags, they in fact end up with a purse and a clutch...attached to one another. These come in several styles, shown above is the red sequin and leather combo and the lace and mesh combo, priced at $2650 and $2,100, respectively. The front pouch may just be one of the most innovative design ideas in a while, but it is not completely original. These bags may well be an homage to an old line of Hermes bags. Sure the pouch may serve some organization means, but is having it in such an open location very safe or practical? These bags are brilliant in concept, but are probably a step to far for the present world, they would most likely do better at a museum than on the sidewalk. All in all, these purses are avant-garde, but are just not ready to wear.
